History:
Formed in 2000 to facilitate the development of major lacrosse teams in Calgary after many years of a dying intermediate program. The rebirth of Junior Lacrosse can be attributed to people such as Charles Biers, John Porteous, Harris Toth and Balfour Der to name a few.

Purpose:
The CMBLA represents all junior teams in Calgary below Jr A. and the two Calgary Senior B teams. The association provides administration, discipline and organizational help for all teams as well as the collection of fees and payment of league expenses. Responsibilities also include liaison with the Alberta Lacrosse Association, the Rocky Mountain Lacrosse League, and the Calgary District Lacrosse Association.

Players:
The 2004 season will consist of three Junior B teams, four Tier II Travel teams and six Tier II City teams.

The Jr. B division will consist of the "Junior Mountaineers", the "Calgary Shamrocks" and the “Calgary Chill” competing against three Edmonton Jr. B teams in an inter-provincial league with games against Prince George as well.

The Tier II Travel teams will compete in a league consisting of 14 teams from within the province and travel to play against teams in High River, Okotoks, Lethbridge and Medicine Hat.

For the first time we will be offering a Tier II City league where the teams will play strictly other Calgary teams. This will offer the players that have other commitments an opportunity to play without travel commitments.

Plans:
We will once again play primarily at Centennial arena with a few games and practices at alternate facilities such as the Calgary Corral and West Hillhurst arenas as we continue to grow and need additional floor time.

This season the Jr. B Mountaineers will be competing in the Founders Cup, the Jr. B Canadian Championship Tournament being held in Elora Ontario.

As soon as all the registrations have been received we will begin organizing the players for their respective evaluation session which will begin as soon as possible in April.

We are always looking for additional volunteers; please contact us if you are able to help with one of the following positions: Secretary, Tier II coordinators and Coaching.
