The purpose of the Mini Tyke and Tyke leagues is to introduce, emphasize, and develop the fundamental skills of lacrosse. The focus of practices as well as games is to promote an environment that encourages participation, skill development, and overall enjoyment of the game.ÝTo encourage the development of this environment, there will be no standings for Mini Tyke or Tyke. "RO" will be displayed in place of a game score to show a game has been played. Please note that although standings are not kept, standard game results procedures must be followed (ie. sending in the game sheets).
Officials are expected to implement these published Rules of Emphasis consistently, no matter what the time of game, the score on the floor, or floor strength of the teams. Click here to download.
The new practice of running a split bench with players designated to only play in the offensive zone and others in the defensive zone, when even strength, is not permitted and will be enforced:

CANADA DAY TOURNAMENT
The Canada Day Tournament began in 1977, but at that time the tournament was restricted to only Peewee teams. A couple of years later, Bantam teams were added to the tournament, and in 1981, Novice teams were added as well. Every year the tournament hosts around 100 teams in Midget and below, making it the largest indoor lacrosse tournament in North America. Teams for the tournament come from Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, British Columbia, and on some occasions, as far away as Australia. On the same weekend, The Rocky Mountain Challenge is played by Intermediate, Junior and Senior lacrosse teams from all over Western Canada. For more info on the Canada Day tournament, click here.
